Over 200,000 Filipinos living and working in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) can now send money securely and conveniently back home to the Philippines as GCash, the leading finance app in the Philippines, inks its partnership with Al Fardan, one of the largest remittance networks in UAE. The partnership now makes it possible for Overseas Filipino Workers to send money directly to their loved ones’ GCash account or cash-in to their own GCash e-wallets, and enjoy more financial services from the app wherever they are. Through this partnership, OFWs who wish to send money back to their loved ones are given access to competitive exchange rates and fast and reliable, real-time remittance service, with a fixed fee of 15 Dirham (AED) regardless of the amount. OFWs have the choice to remit to a +63 or +971 valid GCash number. By partnering with Al Fardan, GCash also underscores its mission to improve the customer experience while ensuring the utmost safety and security of transactions, offering seamless cross border remittance options. With over 85 branches across the UAE and over 150 Global Bank Partners, OFWs can also send money from the UAE to the PH over the counter or via their digital app, AlfaPay.

“Our main mission is to improve the lives of every Filipino, whether they are in the Philippines or abroad. The partnership between Al Fardan and GCash empowers our beloved OFWs in the UAE to send money in a secure and fast way to their loved ones in the Philippines. We believe that this partnership can be rewarding for our hardworking OFWs and will strengthen their connections with their families as it makes the remittance process easier and faster than ever.” said GCash International General Manager, Paul Albano.

Driven by its shared vision of creating an inclusive ecosystem powered by superior customer experience, Hasan Alfardan, CEO of Al Fardan said this collaboration is one of its joint strategies to meet the growing demand for efficient and convenient remittance services, especially for OFWs in UAE. “We are pleased to work with GCash to make international remittances more accessible and convenient for our customers. By leveraging the seamlessness of the GCash app, we are making it easier for Filipinos to receive money, and save for a better financial future.”

When Filipinos in UAE cash-in to their GCash wallets, they can enjoy free real-time money transfers to recipients in the Philippines. GCash also allows its users overseas to pay bills—such as utilities, taxes, and tuition— directly on the app. Filipinos abroad can also buy loads for their loved ones back home, to help families stay connected even from afar. Through its partnerships with remittance players abroad, GCash continues to champion its “Finance for All” mission in the country and beyond its borders through safe and convenient digital financial services, and equal access to financial opportunities for Filipinos, anytime and anywhere.
